RFS Showcases Infrastructure Solutions that Simplify Network Design, Deployment and Management for Broadcasters in Latin America
São Paulo, Brazil, September 19th, 2012 —Radio Frequency Systems (RFS), the global wireless and broadcast infrastructure specialist, highlighted its advanced broadcast infrastructure solutions, state-of-the-art equipment, and turnkey services, as well as its revolutionary filter tuning software at this year’s SET—Broadcast & Cable 2012 in Brazil. In a booth structured to showcase products, solutions, and services designed to simplify broadcast network design, deployment and management, RFS presented key offerings engineered to make broadcast network ownership more efficient and cost-effective for customers in Latin America.
SET – Broadcast & Cable is the largest and most important event for television and radio engineering in Latin America. This year’s show was held August 21-23 at the Imigrantes Exhibition Center in São Paulo, Brazil. As the premiere event for the broadcast industry in the region, the show attracted 180 exhibitors, 50 speakers, and approximately 9,000 visitors from North America, South America, Europe and Asia.
The RFS booth featured a demonstration of the Broadcast Computer Aided Tuning (BCAT) software that enables complete broadcast filter tuning with no manual intervention.
“Today’s tuning software simplifies filter tuning to a point,” said Veronica Cuchnir, Broadcast Product Manager. “However, to complete the tuning process broadcasters must rely on a tuning expert who can disassemble the product. This can take up to a day to complete. But with the RFS BCAT software, even a novice can fully tune a complex filter. The software allows anyone who can operate a computer and a network analyzer to tune RFS PeakPower+™ filters through to completion within a half hour. This dramatic reduction in tuning time reduces service costs, simplifies network management, and helps transmitter vendors quickly and easily respond to changing requirements.”
In addition to the BCAT software, the RFS booth showcased RFS PeakPower filters, which are engineered to support power ratings from 50 Watts to 10kW and are tunable across the UHF band and for 6, 7 or 8 MHz channels. Other products on display included PHP panel and slot antennas, CompactLine® Easy microwave antennas, and HELIFLEX® cable transmission lines and related connectors.
“These products and our project management and turnkey services are all part of the complete portfolio of solutions and services that we offer to broadcasters in Latin America,” said Renato França, commercial director. “They demonstrate our commitment to ensure broadcasters always have the most innovative options available to simplify their networks and make the management of those networks more efficient and cost-effective.”
