RFS delivers an insight into its broad DSO-experience and introduces new filter solutions at IBC 2011 in Amsterdam
Amsterdam, August 10, 2011 – Radio Frequency Systems (RFS), the global wireless and broadcast infrastructure specialist, will deliver an insight into its Digital Switchover (DSO)-projects around the globe at this year’s IBC 2011 in Amsterdam (September 9-13). Also at the show, RFS will show its full range of PeakPower+-bandpass filters.
As a specialist within the DSO-world, RFS will present its capabilities, showing precise examples of its activities. Power and performance are important when it comes to the transition from analog into the digital era of television: RFS supports DSO-projects all around the globe. In Europe huge projects are right now under way with RAI in Italy and one of the most important broadcasters in Poland. Here RFS is delivering complete antenna systems for eight stations. Globally, RFS has a major share in the DSO-rollout in Argentina and recently provided 5 ½”-Heliflex-cable as well as rigid lines to equip one of Japan’s tallest towers, the new “Sky Tree Tower” in Tokyo and thereby enable Japan’s way into the DSO-era.
The PeakPower+-filter range was launched last year and now five filters are available that meet every demand: 500 W, 1 kW, 2.5 kW, 5 kW plus a new 8-pole-filter. RFS’ PeakPower+ filters safely sustain the very high peak power requirement of digital television (DTV). As a result, broadcasters can expect fewer system shutdowns and increased revenue through the safe addition and diversification of digital channels and services within their existing infrastructure. The filters feature a compact design that makes it easy to integrate them into existing equipment, plus a very low insertion loss and the highest power rating.
During IBC Amsterdam RFS will reinforce its broadcast technology leadership by showcasing innovations for a digital world as RFS has the expertise to offers its customers a “one-stop-shop”: From design and architecture up to the complete delivery of antenna systems and installation monitoring; RFS covers the entire planning and production chain.
“RFS is the only vendor that can offer broadcasters deep experience and expertise in both broadcast and telecom technologies,” says Mick Bennett, Product Line Manager, Broadcast and Defense Systems at RFS.
To highlight its broadcast technology leadership to IBC2011 attendees, RFS will feature:
PeakPower+™ filters and combiners that safely sustain the very high peak power requirements of digital television (DTV).
PCP and PEP broadband UHF panel array antennas that feature Variable Polarization Technology (VPT)* for individually-configurable polarization ratios as well as customizable, cylindrical radomes.
HELIFLEX® Lite connectors and high-power HELIFLEX cables. HELIFLEX connectors offer rigorously-tested mechanical integrity, extremely low loss and an attractive price/performance ratio to support the ramp-up of next-generation digital broadcast services in Europe and around the world. HELIFLEX cables are ideal for applications where both high flexibility and crush resistance are required.
