São Paulo, Brazil, October 15, 2018 – Radio Frequency Systems (RFS), a global designer and manufacturer of total-package solutions for wireless and broadcast infrastructure, has invested more than 1.5 million euros to start BSA production and increase jumper capacity at its factory in Embu, Brazil. The improvements will allow RFS to better support growing demand from customers in Latin America and worldwide.

“As operators adopt new technologies such as LTE Advanced and MIMO 4x4, modernize their networks and adapt their operations to support spectrum refarming, they will need additional equipment,” explains Wilson Conti, RFS General Manager and VP Sales for Latin America. “Base station antennas will be key to support operator expansion and jumpers will be needed to interconnect equipment. With increased production capacity in Brazil, RFS is in a better position to support operators throughout their evolution.”

Benefits for customers in Latin America and globally

FASTER PRODUCT DELIVERY

RFS’ ability to assemble BSAs in Brazil gives the company’s customers a unique competitive advantage. “For example, RFS’ triple-band, 6-port BSA can now be delivered faster to help customers jumpstart their evolution,” says Conti. “In addition, the antenna is available in different configurations, such as hexaband and trisector.

LOCAL BENEFITS

In Brazil, products manufactured in-country qualify for the PPB program, which provides benefits such as tax reductions. “This will help us be even more competitive in the region,” says Conti.

HIGHER PRODUCTION CAPACITY

With increased jumper production capacity, RFS can meet growing demand from customers in Latin America and worldwide. The newly installed production equipment complies with the company’s global operation and quality standards.

All RFS jumpers are thoroughly tested for voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR) and low passive intermodulation (PIM). In addition, CELLFLEX® SecureFit Jumpers are available with smaller 4.3-10 connectors as well as traditional DIN connectors. The new, easy-to-install weatherproofing boot for SecureFit jumpers ensures watertight seals in even the most extreme environmental conditions to optimize costs and save time in the field.

“Our sales in Latin America increased considerably from 2016 to 2017 and we expect the trend to continue in 2018”
