RFS RADIAFLEX Radiating Cable Deployed in Extension Project of Wuhan Metro Line 11

Wuhan Metro currently operates 12 lines, with a total mileage of nearly 500 kilometers and more than 300 stations. This ranks as the sixth longest metro in world, with line extensions meaning the size of the Wuhan Metro now surpasses the Moscow Metro, the longest metro operation outside of China.

Since the launch of Wuhan Metro Line 1 in 2007, RFS's RADIAFLEX radiating cable technology has been successfully integrated into the dedicated TETRA and signaling system. This is key in helping Wuhan Metro operate a safe and efficient communication network. To date, RFS has laid nearly 600 kilometers of radiating cables for six of the operating lines of Wuhan Metro, where RFS solutions are playing a key role in supporting its rapid expansion.

Recently, RFS has been awarded the signal system project for the extension of Wuhan Metro Line 11, with the project delivery due for completion in 2024.

RADIAFLEX is the original and market-leading radiating cable solution. It is designed to provide contoured RF indoor coverage in a range of challenging environments and is the go-to solution for underground rail operations with RADIAFLEX installed in 50% of metros worldwide.

Rick Wei, PLM & Sales Director—China at RFS, commented, “We are very proud to be continuing our relationship with one of China’s major metros with reliable cable solutions built to last. Following on from the announcement of our continued work with Chengdu Metro earlier this week, we are delighted to continue serving metro passengers across China.”
